Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow... MORE

As we brace for yet ANOTHER snow storm, lets look back at our first week of home-ownership. Bill and I finished up the cabinet painting on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and decided to pick out the paint colors for the living room and kitchen the next day. Only problem? 18-24 inches of snow was forecast for South Jersey.

We decided that if we took the jeep and got out to Ace early enough, we'd have just enough time to get back to the house and start priming, tearing off molding and more carpet and hopefully start painting...

We woke up at 8 and drove through the already accumulating snow...

And got back to Brigantine just in time to watch the blizzard from inside the nice warm house.

We needed to pull the staples out of the hardwood in the staircase... I can still feel the blisters from those stinkin' pliers!

Then we made a drastic decision. We figured that since we were having the rest of the downstairs floors refinished, we may as well pull up the brand new carpet in the front bedroom so that the floors would match the rest of the first floor. You would have never known there had been carpet on these floors- they were like new!

After all this work, we decided to call it a day at about 9 pm. We locked up, and opened the back garage door to check out the snow in the back yard and found this:

And opened the garage door to find this...

Once we were safely tucked into the jeep, we took a minute to grab a few snowy shots of our new home:

Of course the jeep had no problem skiing through about 16 inches of un-plowed roads. After a little "State of Emergency" off roading, we got home to a beautiful ATL covered apartment:

Which was soon clouded by the discovery of 3 feet of snow IN our kitchen... maybe now the landlord will believe us that the sliding glass door isn't sealed tightly!

We can't wait to move!!

looks like they're only forecasting 3-5 inches this time...not enough to cancel my work but enough to make me have to run on the dreaded treadmill :-(
